Spindle Health Check Up

We check following parameters:

Run out of spindle taper bore near spindle face and 300 mm Blue matching of spindle taper bore Vibration in terms of angular velocity and displacement Clamping force measurement Temperature checking These check points data recording shall help to have proper predictive maintenance.

Primarily this program is suitable for VMC / HMC/ Turning center users Nonetheless, it can be useful to grinding spindle users as well

Advantages

Very Complex Spindle assembly on the machine

Spindles where bearings are good in condition and only taper is deteriorated

Spindles with longer shaft length for which machines are not available to grind its taper, i.e. spindle length more than 1.5 meters

Start grinding

Blue matching > 80%, mandrel run out < 20 micron at 350 mm from spindle face

Limitations

Not suitable for BT 40 belt driven VMC spindles.

It is not cost effective

Can not compare with floor based grinding machine and hence you can not remove too much of material

Not suitable for HSK taper grinding
